CONVERGING at the European Robotics Forum 2026
The CONVERGING project will participate in the European Robotics Forum 2026 (ERF2026), taking place 23–26 March 2026 in Stavanger, Norway. Recognised as the flagship event of Europe’s robotics community, ERF brings together researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to discuss the latest developments in robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Now in its 16th edition, ERF2026 is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants from academia, industry, and the public sector. The event will feature a rich programme of workshops, keynote talks, and exhibitions, showcasing cutting-edge robotics technologies and EU-funded research initiatives.
CONVERGING at the Hybrid Production Systems Workshop
CONVERGING will contribute to the 13th Hybrid Production Systems (HPS) Workshop, titled: “Automating Humans or Humanizing Production?”
The workshop will explore how modern manufacturing systems are evolving through the integration of robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and human-centred design principles. The discussion will focus on building flexible, adaptive, and collaborative production environments where humans and intelligent machines work together effectively.
Key themes include:
· Human-Robot Collaboration in industrial environments
· AI-enabled robotics using Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision-Language Models (VLMs)
· Human-in-the-loop approaches for smarter production systems
· Perception, simulation, and digital environments for flexible manufacturing
· Immersive technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) for robot programming and training
· Learning, upskilling, and reskilling for next-generation production technologies
The session will feature keynote presentations, short technical talks, and a moderated round-table discussion with experts from industry and academia.
During the workshop, Nikos Dimitropoulos (LMS) will present an impulse talk on: “Task Allocation using Large Language Models.” The presentation will explore how LLMs can support intelligent task allocation in hybrid production environments, enabling more efficient coordination between humans and robotic systems.
Meet Us at ERF 2026
ERF2026 provides an important opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and strengthen collaboration across the European robotics ecosystem. The CONVERGING project is proud to contribute to this dialogue and to support the development of next-generation human-centred production systems.
